Hunt for next Sprinter Sacre at foal show

The son of Monsun made a good start to the day when Detente, a daughter of an unraced Video Rock mare presented by Michele Juhen-Cypres, took her section of the two-year-old fillies’ competition before going on to be crowned overall winner of the division.

Detente is descended from the family of Munster National winner Raz De Maree as well as two of France’s leading five-year-old chasers, Vanilla Crush and Vezelay.

« She has size and scope and is head and shoulders above the rest, » said Decize debutant judge Norman Williamson at the end of the section.

After Pierrick Rouxel of Haras de Maulepaire chose Detente as the overall category winner, Juhen-Cypres said: « I’m very moved, but then she has always been a beautiful filly and I’m not surprised she has been well received. »
